Lumbar Radiculopathy is pain, weakness, numbness, or tingling caused by a pinched nerve in the lower, or lumbar, region of the spine. It is sometimes called Sciatica which is the popular term used to describe when pain radiates from the lower back and down the back of the legs.

The most common causes of this pinching is when the space where the nerve leaves the spine is narrowed as a result of stenosis, bone spurs, disc herniation or other conditions such as strenuous activity, a congenital defect or a traumatic injury.
